The Komu

By The Tamora Group

Tabu Design collaborated with Tamora Group on the furnishing of The Komu, a 126-room aparthotel in the heart of Berawa. Designed with flexibility, comfort, and long-term living in mind, The Komu blends sleek, industrial-chic aesthetics with smart spatial solutions. Tabu was responsible for delivering fully functional furniture solutions tailored to support the property’s hybrid living concept.

Project Details

Located in one of Canggu’s most vibrant and fast-growing districts, The Komu sits just moments from Berawa Beach and some of Bali’s most popular cafés, restaurants, and coworking spaces. Its setting reflects the lifestyle of modern travelers and residents looking for a balance between leisure, work, and community.

Tabu Design provided both fixed and loose furniture for all 126 rooms, spanning four wings of the development. The scope included:

  • Fixed Furniture: Kitchens, wardrobes, vanities, desks, shelving units, sliding doors, and AC panel covers
  • Loose Furniture: Beds, sofas, lounge chairs, dining chairs, side tables, and custom desk chairs designed to integrate seamlessly into the desk area when not in use

This particular design detail—a compact, partially concealed desk chair—was developed in close collaboration with the client to maximize space efficiency without sacrificing comfort or style.

Our involvement began with precise field measurements taken onsite, which were then used to develop detailed technical drawings for each unit. Working in phases, the installation was completed wing by wing, allowing for efficient coordination and timely execution.

All furniture was produced in-house by Tabu Design, with a focus on consistency, functionality, and durability. Throughout the process, our management team conducted regular quality control checks to ensure the final result met the standards expected by both client and guest.
