House of Bata

A home defined by stillness and grounded by texture.

Terracotta and natural wood take the lead in this quietly composed space, bringing warmth, depth, and calm to every corner. Rooted in restraint and softness, the interiors speak to a way of living that is both considered and connected to nature.

Project Details

Mas, Ubud – Bali, Indonesia

Tucked into the village of Mas, just outside central Ubud, the home embraces its natural setting with quiet confidence. Open layouts, soft transitions, and natural materials create a dialogue between architecture and landscape.

Full fixed furniture supply and selected custom loose furniture

Tabu supplied all fixed installations and a selection of loose furniture throughout the house, including built-in wardrobes, shelving, dining tables, and soft seating. Each piece was made to integrate naturally with the interior architecture, supporting both function and feeling.

In close collaboration with Casares + Tous and Enggal Jaya Konstruksi, we worked from early design development through to final installation. Terracotta and wood were selected as the core materials, forming a palette that is warm, tactile, and timeless.

The process focused on balance — between rawness and refinement, light and weight, texture and simplicity. The result is a home that feels cohesive and calm, shaped by thoughtful decisions and quiet detail.
